Twins Pitcher Opts Out Of Contract
Chi Chi Gonzalez's time with the Minnesota Twins is over, as the veteran starter has opted out of his minor league contract.
Gonzalez was actually called up to the major league squad earlier this week and got into one start. Unfortunately for him, he struggled during it, as he allowed three earned runs in just three innings pitched. Two of those hits also happened to be home runs. From there, he returned to Triple-A.
Gonzalez will now be hoping to find another home in the majors from here. Due to his solid amount of MLB experience, there could be some interest from other clubs. In 62 career games between the Rangers, Rockies, and Twins, he has a 9-23 record and 5.68 ERA.
