Tigers Pitcher Designated For Assignment
The Detroit Tigers have designated Jacob Barnes for assignment.
Barnes has struggled significantly this season with the Tigers, so perhaps this was a roster move that we could have predicted. In 22 games on the year, he may have a 3-1 record but also a very high 6.10 ERA. That just will not cut it, so now the veteran has been removed from the 40-man roster.
The Tigers will have until the end of the week to either trade or place Barnes on waivers. Teams could consider him due to his abundance of MLB experience. In 251 career games between the Brewers, Royals, Angels, Mets, Blue Jays, and Tigers, he has an 8-16 record and 4.73 ERA.
