Tigers Claim Catcher Off Waivers

The Detroit Tigers have claimed Ali Sanchez off of waivers from the St. Louis Cardinals. 

Sanchez will provide the Tigers with a bit more depth behind the plate. Yet, he will be beginning his journey with the Tigers organization down in Triple-A. If he does well, perhaps it will open the door to a potential call-up later in the year.

In seven career games between the Mets and Cardinals, Sanchez has three hits in 14 at-bats.
