Royals Call Up Pitcher

The Kansas City Royals have selected Daniel Mengden's contract. With this, he is set to join their major league squad.

Mengden has not pitched in the majors since the 2020 season, so it is exciting that he is returning. In 60 career games with the A's, he has a 17-20 record and 4.64 ERA. It will be intriguing to see how he performs for the Royals from here. 

Mengden has not had the best of campaigns in Triple-A Omaha, however. In 12 games, he sports a 5-3 record but also has a rather high 5.47 ERA. With the Royals, he will be hoping to be a bit reliable to help his chances of sticking around.
