Red Sox Starter Aims to Return Next Week
Red Sox ace Nathan Eovaldi is expected to return next week.
Eovaldi was placed on the 15-day IL last Sunday with lower-back inflammation. Red Sox manager, Alex Cora, is hopeful that the pitcher will be able to return as soon as he is eligible, which is June 24th.
Whitlock, Eovaldi and Hernandez are all doing OK with their hip injuries. Cora is hopeful each will be back as soon as they're eligible to return from the IL. For Whitlock and Eovaldi that's June 24. For Hernandez, that's this weekend.

The thirty-two year old is in the final year of his four-year/$68 million contract ($17 AAV) with the Boston Red Sox. He holds a 3.16 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and has 72 strikeouts over his 68 innings this season.
The Red Sox have been surging over the past month, posting a 20-8 record giving them a 33-29 record on the season and putting them fourth in the AL East. The club is sitting in the third wildcard spot, with a half-game lead over the Cleveland Guardians.
Eovaldi's return will likely contribute to further success for the team in the coming weeks.
