Red Sox Have Dilemma On Their Hands
The Red Sox will have a decision to make once Kike Hernandez is ready to return.
Out since June 8 with a right hip flexor strain, Kike Hernandez was scheduled to begin a rehab assignment on Tuesday and, if everything went well, would be activated for this weekend.
However, it appears he may have had a setback, according to Alex Cora. Nothing official yet, but we should know more soon.
Cora says returns of Kiké Hernández and Nate Eovaldi are slower than expected. Hernández may have had a setback. They’ll know more tonight.

Arroyo and Taylor in Worcester today. Whitlock is close to returning and may not need a rehab outing.
The thirty-year old outfielder was not exactly producing much offensively this season for the Red Sox, batting .209/.273/.340 with four home runs and 24 RBIs in 51 games.
The Red Sox called up speedy prospect Jarren Duran to fill the outfielder's void. In six games played in his most recent call-up, the twenty-five year old has batted leadoff and hit .300 with two doubles, a triple and two stolen bases.
It seems likely that the Red Sox will send Duran back down once Hernandez and Arroyo are healthy, but let's hope they don't for the young outfielder has more than earned himself a stay in the majors.
Jarren Duran has two triples and his batting .303 in nine games with the Red Sox this season.

He’s looked great in the leadoff spot and his speed has been an absolute game changer. #DirtyWater • @SoxSpects pic.twitter.com/bRlGHk4Yn2
It will be interesting to see what the Red Sox do with this situation.
