Rays Pitcher Elects Free Agency

Chris Mazza's time with the Tampa Bay Rays is over, as the reliever has elected to become a free agent. 

Mazza was recently designated for assignment by the Rays and cleared waivers. Yet, instead of heading to Triple-A for them, he is going to test his luck on the market instead.

Mazza's tenure with the Rays ends after two appearances. During them, he allowed seven earned runs in 5.1 innings. If he finds a new home in the majors from here, he will be aiming to bounce back.
