Rays Call Up Pitcher
The Tampa Bay Rays have called up Luke Bard to their major league roster.
Bard last pitched in the majors during the 2020 season with the Los Angeles Angels. In six appearances that campaign, he allowed four earned runs in 5.1 innings pitched. With the Rays, he will naturally be hoping for better results. That, in turn, could help his chances of sticking around with the major league squad from here.
Bard has pitched well with Triple-A Durham, so it makes sense that he is getting a chance with the Rays now. In 15 games on the year, he has a 0-0 record and 2.81 ERA. Let's see if this kind of success translates to the majors.
