Rangers Release Pitcher
The Rangers have designated pitcher Spencer Patton for assignment.
The move clears out a 40-man roster spot for Steven Duggar, who was acquired from the Giants for Willie Calhoun.
To make room for Duggar on the club’s 40-man roster, RHP Spencer Patton has been designated for assignment. The Rangers will make another move to accommodate Duggar on the active 26-man roster when he reports to the club.

The thirty-four year old pitched in seven innings for the Rangers this season, throwing a 3.86 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP with five strikeouts.
In his career at the major league level, Patton holds a 5.11 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 111 strikeouts in 104 innings.
If he clears waivers, the pitcher should generate some interest from teams around the league looking for some bullpen depth.
