Rangers Lose 2 Pitchers
The Texas Rangers have lost Dan Winkler and Nick Tropeano, as each pitcher has opted out of their minor league contracts. With this, they are now free agents.
Winkler signed with the Rangers hoping he would land a call-up, but he will now be searching for that opportunity elsewhere. There likely will be some teams considering him, as he has made MLB appearances in each of the last seven seasons. In 182 career games between the Braves and Cubs, he has a 8-2 record and 3.98 ERA.
Tropeano is another experienced pitcher who just couldn't make the cut on Texas' roster. In 54 career major league games over seven seasons, between the Astros, Angels, Pirates, Giants, and Mets, he has a 14-14 record and 4.22 ERA.
