Phillies Send Former First-Overall Pick Down To Triple-A
The Philadelphia Phillies have sent Mickey Moniak down to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.
This isn't too surprising to see, as Moniak has struggled since returning from injury. The 2016 first-overall pick has just four hits in 25 at-bats on the year, so he will now be looking to get his confidence back with Lehigh Valley.
It will be intriguing to see if this demotion does Moniak any good. The 24-year-old is of course viewed as having good potential, but it just hasn't translated over to the majors yet. Here's to hoping he can bounce back with Lehigh Valley and land himself a call-up soon.
