Phillies Infielder To Miss 10-to-12 Weeks
As if things haven't been bad enough for the Philadelphia Phillies, now they've lost their second baseman Jean Segura to a broken finger, suffered during Tuesday night's game.
Jean Segura needs surgery on fractured right index finger. He will miss 10-12 weeks. Huge blow for the #Phillies offense and defense. Maybe back in September.

Segura was hit in the hand while attempting a bunt in the 7th inning. The 32-year-old will now need surgery, and be out from 10-to-12 weeks.
I feel awful for Jean Segura. He’s been one of our only consistent bats. But a big leaguer should know how to bunt and know how to protect his index finger while bunting. This lapse in fundamentals is costing him to miss time and hurting the team

This is another bad blow for the Phils, as Segura has been one of the team's more consistent hitters this season, batting .275 with a .731 OPS, 6 HR, 19 RBIs and 8 stolen bases.
In his stead, the Phils will likely use a combination of rookie Bryson Stott and Johan Camargo in the short term, while they await the return of Didi Gregorious, rehabbing from a knee problem.
Just another tough break for manager Joe Girardi, whose team has now lost 5 straight games to fall to 21-29, as Girardi is telling anyone who'll listen that he isn't worried about his job.
