Orioles Starter Demoted to Triple-A
Orioles pitcher Bruce Zimmermann's strong start to the season is over. For now.
The twenty-seven year old southpaw was scorched for six runs in just four and two-thirds innings of work on Wednesday in Toronto. This is the sixth consecutive start in which Zimmermann has let up at least four earned runs.
The performance stands in stark contrast to his first five starts where he pitched twenty-seven innings, allowing eleven earned-runs, and punching out 22 batters.
The pitcher's biggest problem in the majors this season has been his ability to limit the long-shot, allowing eighteen homeruns in 66 innings.
After beginning the season with a 14 2/3 inning scoreless streak, Bruce Zimmermann has been optioned to Triple-A Norfolk.

Zimmermann will attempt to find that early-season success again with the Triple-A Norfolk Tides and just maybe earn himself another call-up later this season.
