Orioles Release Infielder
Jahmai Jones' time with the Baltimore Orioles is officially over, as he has been placed on unconditional release waivers. If he goes unclaimed, he will become a free agent.
Jones was designated for assignment last week and then elected to have Tommy John surgery. Given the severity of his injury, a waiver claim seems unlikely, as he will be out for the rest of this season at least.
In 29 career games between the Angels and Orioles, Jones has zero home runs, four RBIs, and a .176 batting average. It will be intriguing to see what happens next for the second baseman, but all we know for sure is that his time as an Oriole is done.
