Orioles Pitcher Designated For Assignment
The Baltimore Orioles have designated Zac Lowther for assignment. This is in response to the O's claiming Jonathan Arauz off waivers, as they needed to open up a roster spot.
Lowther has spent each of the last two seasons making limited appearances for the Orioles. In 11 games total with the major league club, he has a 1-3 record and 6.94 ERA. In his lone start this campaign, he allowed five earned runs in just 5.1 innings pitched.
The Orioles will now have until the end of the week to either trade or waive Lowther. It will be intriguing to see if another team decides to take a chance on the former top prospect. Alas, time will tell on that front.
