Nationals Infielder Ready for Return
Washington Nationals shortstop Alcides Escobar returns today from the injured list.
We've returned from rehabilitation assignment and reinstated INF Alcides Escobar from the 10-day IL.

The infielder hit the ten-day IL after suffering a hamstring injury in a game against the New York Mets at the end of May. Luis Garcia was called up from Triple-A to replace the shortstop.

Escobar now returns to the Nationals' roster as a utility infielder, as Garcia will continue at shortstop for the present.
Alcides Escobar, as expected, has been activated off the IL. Will serve as utility infielder with Luis García remaining as starting shortstop.

Escobar is batting .220 on the season over 118 at bats.
With the return of Escobar, the Nationals send right-handed pitcher Cory Abbott back down to Triple-A Rochester.
The Nationals are 24-46 on the season, giving them a win percentage of .343, and placing them at the bottom of the NL East.
