MLB Rumors: A Very Good Reason Why The Yankees Haven't Yet Traded Miguel Andujar
Just five days after Miguel Andujar asked to be traded, comes a report that the New York Yankees are simply not getting any suitable offers.
MLB Insider Jon Heyman reports that "the Yankees told Andujar that though they’ve tried to trade him, the offers haven’t been good enough."
And so the veteran infielder/outfielder continues to sit in Triple-A, where he was assigned six days ago.
Even a former teammate, Gary Sanchez, has pledged his support for Andujar's trade request. “My opinion, it’s time for them or any other team to give him an opportunity. He deserves to play in the big leagues. He’s done a good job, offensively, but also defensively. He’s come a long way defensively, and he’s shown that he’s capable of staying in the big leagues. Maybe he deserves an opportunity on another team.”
In six seasons in the Bronx, Andujar has a more-than-respectable .277 career average, and a .769 OPS. He was runner-up in Rookie of the Year balloting in 2018.
I don’t know about you, but I’d much rather watch Miguel Andújar play baseball than Aaron Hicks or Joey Gallo.

For now, the Yankees will continue to ride with Aaron Judge, Aaron Hicks and Joey Gallo in the outfield—the latter two, much to the chagrin of Yankee fans.
