MLB Rumors: Marlins Pitcher Staying Put
Pablo Lopez's name has come up in the rumor mill as of late, but that doesn't mean a trade is going to happen. In fact, MLB insider Jon Heyman shut the door on that rumor, as he noted that the Miami Marlins have zero intention of moving the 26-year-old.
Lopez is under team control until 2024, so it makes sense that the Marlins are in favor of keeping him around for the rest of this season at least. He is currently having the best season of his career, and the truth is in his statistics. In 12 games thus far, he sports a 4-2 record to go along with a career-best 2.30 ERA.
Teams looking to add a high-impact pitcher will likely be disappointed about this news regarding Lopez. Alas, they will have to look elsewhere, as Lopez is staying as a Marlin.
