MLB Rumors: Giants Linked To Reds Ace

According to Jon Heyman, the San Francisco Giants are still expressing interest in Cincinnati Reds ace Luis Castillo.

Last month, it was reported that the Giants were scouting Castillo, and their interest in him is only continuing to grow as we get closer to the deadline. With the Giants trying to catch up to the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres in the NL West, there may be more urgency to pull off a huge move like this one now.

Castillo started this season injured but has been very solid since. Although he has a 2-4 record in seven starts, his 3.23 ERA shows that he has been very dependable when called upon. With that, he has an impressive 37 strikeouts on the year.

Alas, it will be intriguing to see if the Giants end up landing Castillo soon.
