Mets Catcher To Rejoin Team
Mets' catcher James McCann is expected to be activated off the injured list on Friday before their game against the Marlins.
James McCann is expected in Miami tomorrow (he may have already arrived), presumably to be activated from the IL.

McCann has spent over a month on the injured list with a broken hamate bone in his left wrist. In 21 games at the minor league level this season, McCann has hit .286 with six hits and one RBI.

McCann was hitting just .196 with one home run, six RBIs and one stolen base in 56 at bats before his injury. In place of McCann, the Mets have been using catchers Tomas Nido and Patrick Mazeika, who are hitting .219 and .167, so McCann will be a welcome addition back for the club.
The Mets are still awaiting word on starter Carlos Carrasco, who left Wednesday's start with back tightness. The Mets are also missing starters Jacob DeGrom and Tylor Megill, in addition to Max Scherzer, so this would be a big blow if he goes on the injured list.
