Marlins Outright Infielder

Willians Astudillo has cleared waivers. As a result of this, he has now been outrighted to Triple-A Jacksonville.

Due to his MLB experience, Astudillo now has the ability to reject the assignment and test free agency. At this juncture, he has yet to make a decision.

If Astudillo accepts the assignment, the Marlins will continue to have him as a solid call-up option when injuries arise. If he instead becomes a free agent, there should be some interest around the league in his services due to his immense versatility.
