Mariners Sign Outfielder

The Seattle Mariners have signed Scott Heineman to a minor league contract.

Heineman will be beginning his tenure with the Mariners organization down in Triple-A with Tacoma. However, if he has a lot of success, there's a good chance that he could receive a call-up at some point during the regular season.

Heineman made appearances at the major league level in each of the three previous seasons. In 68 career games between the Rangers and Reds, he has five home runs, 17 RBIs, and a .172 batting average. We will have to wait and see if the outfielder will have the chance to build on these totals with the Mariners from here.
