Mariners Release 2 Players
The Seattle Mariners have released Sergio Romo and Joey Gerber.
Romo, a 15-year veteran, struggled immensely this season with the Mariners and was designated for assignment because of it. In 17 appearances, he had a very high 8.16 ERA. That just will not cut it, but it will be intriguing to see if another team gives him a chance from here.
Gerber hasn't played in a major league game for the Mariners since the 2020 campaign. In 17 career games, he has a 1-1 record and 4.02 ERA.
