Mariners Designate Pitcher For Assignment

The Seattle Mariners have designated Drew Steckenrider for assignment. 

Streckenrider has appeared in 16 games for the Mariners this season, and it's fair to say that he has struggled. On the year, he sports a 0-2 record to go along with a 5.65 ERA. With these numbers, perhaps it's understandable that the team is removing him from their 40-man roster.

The Mariners will now have until next week to either trade Streckenrider or place him on waivers. Teams in need of some pitching depth could take a look at him. In 201 career games between the Marlins and Mariners, he has a 10-11 record and 3.27 ERA.
