Mariners Call Up Catcher

Andrew Knapp is back in the majors, as the Seattle Mariners have called him up to their major league roster.

Knapp signed a minor league deal with the Mariners in May after he was let go by the Pirates. In 11 games with Pittsburgh this season, the veteran catcher had a .129 batting average. With the Mariners, he naturally will be aiming to turn things around at the plate.

Knapp will provide the Mariners with another catcher and could be a decent depth player for them moving forward. In 320 career games between the Phillies and Pirates, he has 13 home runs, 64 RBIs, and a .210 batting average.
