Longtime Atlanta Brave Signs In Mexico

Two-time All-Star and 11-year major league veteran right-hander Julio Teheran has decided to continue his baseball career in Mexico.

Teheran last appeared in the big leagues for only one game in 2021, with the Detroit Tigers, but a shoulder injury derailed his season. In 2020, he had a preposterous 10.05 ERA in nine starts with the Los Angeles Angels.

However, for the nine years prior to that, Teheran was a pretty consistent starter for the Atlanta Braves, chalking up a 77-73 mark with a 3.67 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP.

This year, playing in the independent Atlantic League with Staten Island, Teheran seems to have recaptured some of his mojo, with a 1.60 ERA and a stellar 35:6 K:BB ratio.

The 31-year-old will now take those talents to the Toros De Tijuana, and see if he can get another major league team to notice.
