Guardians Acquire Veteran Catcher From Reds

The Cleveland Guardians have acquired Sandy Leon from the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for cash. He is set to join the Guardians' major league roster from here.

Leon is a familiar face, as he spent the 2020 season with Cleveland. He has yet to play in the majors in 2022, however, so he is likely welcoming this move back to the Guardians.

A 10-year veteran, Leon has spent time with the Nationals, Red Sox, Cleveland, and Marlins. In 500 career games, he has 31 home runs, 141 RBIs, and a .212 batting average.
