Dodgers Outfielder To Undergo Surgery
Just a week after making it back to the big leagues, and three days after suffering a painful fractured shoulder, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Kevin Pillar has elected to undergo surgery.

Pillar will have the procedure on Tuesday, and likely miss most of the rest of the season.
It's a terrible blow for Pillar, who finally had a chance to play for the team he grew up idolizing as a kid. He'd signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers in spring training, and was crushing the ball in Triple-A prior to his call-up. He was hitting .315 with 9 home runs and an OPS over 1.000. Here's what he had to say after getting that long-awaited spot on the Dodgers last week:
I’m back! I’ve dreamed of this moment since I was a little kid driving down the 101 to Dodger stadium. Last couple months have been a journey but ultimately found my way home! #818 https://t.co/ccS96fGV9e

"I’ve dreamed of this moment since I was a little kid driving down the 101 to Dodger stadium," wrote the 33-year-old ten-year major league veteran. "Last couple months have been a journey but ultimately found my way home!"
A very sad turn of event for Pillar. Hopefully he'll make it back before season's end.
