Dodgers Call Up Infielder

The Los Angeles Dodgers have called up Eddy Alvarez to their major league roster.

Alvarez can play several positions in the infield, so he will offer the Dodgers plenty of potential options. Assuming he gets into action, he will be making his debut with LA. In 43 games this season with Triple-A Oklahoma City, he has five home runs, 22 RBIs, and a .304 batting average.

Alvarez spent each of the last two seasons with the Miami Marlins. In 36 career games, he has one home run, eight RBIs, and a .188 batting average.
