Diamondbacks Designate Pitcher For Assignment

The Arizona Diamondbacks have designated Jacob Webb for assignment.

Webb spent each of the last three seasons in the majors with the Atlanta Braves. However, after being cut by the Braves, he was claimed off waivers from the Pirates. Since then, Webb has struggled significantly, as he has a 10.13 ERA in six appearances for Triple-A Reno. Thus, perhaps this was a move that we could have seen coming.

With many teams dealing with injury trouble, Webb could be given another chance elsewhere. The Diamondbacks have to either trade or place him on waivers by next week, so let's see if he gets a fresh start from here. In 78 career MLB games, he has a 9-4 record and 2.47 ERA.
