Diamondbacks Designate Infielder For Assignment

The Arizona Diamondbacks have designated Drew Ellis for assignment.

Ellis has played six games for the Diamondbacks this season. During them, it's fair to say he struggled at the plate, as he had two hits in 13 at-bats. Perhaps this played in a role when it came to the Diamondbacks' decision to remove him from their 40-man roster.

Teams looking for a bit more infield depth could consider adding Ellis. The Diamondbacks have until the end of the week to either trade or place Ellis on waivers. Let's see what happens on that front from here.
