Cubs Pitcher To Have Tommy John Surgery
Ethan Roberts is done for the season, as the Chicago Cubs pitcher is set to have Tommy John surgery.
Roberts has been on the 60-day injured list because of shoulder inflammation, so it was already clear that the rookie was facing a long-term injury. Now, with this development, there's no question that his year is done.
In nine games this season with the Cubs, Roberts sported a 0-1 record, 8.22 ERA, and nine strikeouts. Here's to hoping that his recovery goes smoothly and that we can see him return at some point in 2023.
