Cubs Designate Pitcher For Assignment
Eric Stout's time on the Chicago Cubs' 40-man roster is over, as the team has designated for assignment.
This is certainly a tough blow for Stout, as made the majors for the first time since 2018 with the Cubs this year. In his two appearances with the Cubs, he allowed two earned runs in 3.2 innings pitched. He notably had six strikeouts, but in the end, it wasn't enough for him to maintain his spot on their 40-man roster.
With this roster move, the Cubs have to either trade Stout or place him on waivers by the end of the week. If he clears waivers, the Cubs would likely send him back down to Triple-A. We will have to wait and see what ends up occurring with Stout from here.
