Cardinals Flamethrowing Pitcher Almost Back
Jordan Hicks finally got a spot in the Cardinals' starting rotation this season. After a few starts, the twenty-five year old injured his right forearm in late May. Since then, Hicks has been on the injured list.
This coming week, however, the starter will begin a rehab assignment.
Hicks struggled prior to his injury posting a 5.02 ERA, a WHIP of 1.40, and a 1-4 record.
However, Hicks seems well on his way to return. The pitcher threw a thirty-pitch bullpen session this morning, and is reportedly feeling increasingly better.
#STLCards RHP Jordan Hicks (forearm flexor tendon) said he threw 30 pitches today at full velo & "felt as good as I've felt in a long time." Per a source, Hicks is headed for a rehab assignment in Memphis this weekend & could be ready to return to the Cards by early next week.

During the starter's absence, Cardinals rookie Andre Pallante has taken a spot in the rotation and excelled, making it more than likely that Hicks will return as a reliever.
Whatever spot the pitcher fills upon his return, he certainly seems to be making strides in that direction.
