Blue Jays Sign Pitcher
The Toronto Blue Jays have signed Eric Yardley to a minor league contract.
Yardley started this season with the Chicago Cubs' Triple-A affiliate in Iowa. However, it's fair to say he struggled during his time there, as he had a 17.36 ERA in five appearances. Now, with Triple-A Buffalo, he will be looking to turn it around.
Yardley will now be fighting his way back to the majors. He made appearances in each of the last three seasons between the San Diego Padres and Milwaukee Brewers. In 51 career games, he has a 2-1 record and 3.52 ERA.
