The situation originated on Tuesday night when home plate umpire Doug Eddings missed more ball-strike calls in a Blue Jays/Chicago White Sox game than any ump has missed in any single game over the past three seasons.

When Martinez brought out the lineup card before the start of the next day's game, a..."discussion"... ensued, and the Jays' coach was tossed from the game. He apparently said “You missed 26 calls last night, that’s unacceptable,” and according to MLB, made "contact" with the ump.
Blue Jays hitting coach Guillermo Martinez was SUSPENDED 5 GAMES for this pre-game exchange that got him ejected on Wednesday.
