Blue Jays Call Up Pitcher
The Toronto Blue Jays have called up Matt Gage to their major league roster.
Shortly after his call-up, Gage made his MLB debut for the Blue Jays. In it, he pitched a scoreless inning and had two strikeouts. That certainly is a strong way to leave a first impression, so let's see if he can carry over this success moving forward.
With Triple-A Buffalo this season, Gage also has done very well. Although he has a 1-2 record, he also possesses a very low 1.08 ERA in 16 appearances. If he can translate that kind of pitching to the Blue Jays from here, he stands a good shot of cementing himself a permanent spot in their bullpen.
