Astros Rookie Of The Year Candidate To Miss Some Time
He's been a revelation for the Houston Astros this season, who haven't really missed Carlos Correa on the field at all. Rookie shortstop Jeremy Peña has been everything and more that the Astros have wanted. Unfortunately, a thumb injury has now landed him on the 10-day injured list.
Dusty Baker said Jeremy Peña had an MRI that didn’t show any significant damage, but Peña won’t swing a bat for at least a week.

As per Astros beat reporter Chandler Rome, Peña got a clean MRI back, but he won't be allowed to swing a bat for at least a week. He suffered the injury while making a diving attempt at a ball in Monday night's game.
Peña is batting .277 with an .805 OPS, an MLB rookie-best 9 HR, along with 27 RBIs and six stolen bases.
Utilityman Aledmys Diaz will get most of the starts at short until Peña returns.
