Angels Pitcher Designated For Assignment
The Los Angeles Angels have designated Ty Buttrey for assignment.
Buttrey hasn't appeared in a major league game since the 2020 season, so it does make sense that the Angels are removing him from their 40-man roster. The 29-year-old has also struggled noticeably with Triple-A Salt Lake, as he has a 5.11 ERA in 13 appearances.
The Angels will now have until the end of the week to either trade or place Buttrey on waivers. Perhaps another team could be open to giving him a shot because he has a decent amount of MLB experience. In 115 career games, he sports an 8-11 record and 4.30 ERA.
