Yankees Pitcher To Have Tommy John Surgery
While speaking with reporters, New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone announced that Luis Gil is set to have Tommy John surgery.
This news comes just one day after Booner told reporters that Gil has been dealing a serious arm injury. Now, this most recent development has confirmed this, and Gil's season is all but over.
This is just brutal news for Gil, as he has been fighting for a permanent spot on the Yankees' major league roster. Last season he showed very good potential, as he had a 1-1 record and 3.07 ERA in six starts. He did struggle in his lone start this campaign, however, but the future is still bright. However, this kind of surgery is a major one, so we will need to wait and see how he recovers from here.
