Twins Place Key Reliever On Injured List... Again
Just one day after coming off the injured list, Minnesota Twins left-handed reliever Danny Coulombe is headed back to the IL, suffering once again from a left hip impingement.
#MNTwins roster moves:
— Aaron Gleeman (@AaronGleeman) May 28, 2022
- LHP Danny Coulombe (hip) placed on injured list
- LHP Jovani Moran called up from Triple-A
- RHP Yennier Cano optioned to Triple-A
- RHP Juan Minaya called up from Triple-A
(Coulombe re-aggravated his previous hip injury while pitching last night.)
The 32-year-old aggravated the injury in Friday night's game. Coinciding with the Coulombe move, the Twins have made several other pitching transactions, including calling up lefty Jovani Moran and righty Juan Minaya from Triple-A, while optioning right-hander Yennier Cano.
Coulombe is having another fine season in the Twins bullpen, registering a 1.46 ERA in 12.1 innings pitched. He does, however, have a bit of a control problem, as he's walked 9 against 9 strikeouts in those 12.1 innings.
Last year, he posted a 3.47 ERA, and a masterful 33:7 K:BB ratio.
The 25-year-old Moran tossed a scoreless 2.2 innings for the Twins earlier in May.
