Tigers Claim Pitcher Off Waivers

The Detroit Tigers have claimed Sam Howard off waivers from the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Pirates designated Howard for assignment last week, but now he is officially a member of the Tigers organization. However, he will be beginning his tenure with the franchise with their Triple-A squad in Toledo.

If Howard impresses in Triple-A, he should land himself an eventual call-up with Detroit. In 103 career games between the Rockies and Pirates, he has a 7-7 record and 5.34 ERA. It will be intriguing to see how these numbers change by the end of 2022.
