Royals Send Pitcher Down To Triple-A
The Kansas City Royals have sent Carlos Hernandez back down to Triple-A Omaha.
Hernandez has struggled mightily in the majors this season, so perhaps this is something that could have been predicted. In seven starts, he sports a 0-3 record to go along with a 9.10 ERA. Those kinds of numbers have understandably led him to lose his spot in the rotation. Now, he will aim to regain his form in Omaha in hopes of landing a potential call-up.
Over the last three seasons, Hernandez has appeared in 36 games for the Royals. His 2021 season definitely brings hope that he can turn it around, as he had a 6-2 record and 3.68 ERA in 24 games. Alas, let's see if this demotion ends up benefitting him from here.
