Royals Call Up Pitcher
The Kansas City Royals have called up Matt Peacock from Triple-A Omaha. This move comes after the team placed Jake Brentz on the 10-day injured list.
The Royals just acquired Peacock from the Arizona Diamondbacks last week, so he will be hoping to leave a good first impression with his new club. Peacock didn't have the best of starts this season with the D-Backs, though, as he has a 0-0 record and 6.75 ERA. With KC, he will be aiming to bounce back.
Peacock is very much still just getting his career started. As a rookie last season in Arizona, he had a 5-7 record and 4.90 ERA. He saw time as both a starter and reliever, so it will be interesting to see where the Royals utilize him. Wherever he ends up, he will be hoping to secure himself a permanent spot on the major league roster for the rest of the year.
