Rockies Reveal Update on Kris Bryant Status
It's not been a great start to the season for the Colorado Rockies' splashy free agent signing. Kris Bryant, who's out for the second time this year with a lower back sprain, will miss a few weeks this time around.
MLB Insider Jon Heyman reports that he'll be out 2-to-3 weeks, and that Rockies GM Bill Schmidt says Bryant “will be fine.”
Bryant himself, who had the back flare up on him earlier this week, has said he's not worried about the injury being long-term.
#Rockies Kris Bryant says he’s not worried about his back long-term. No surgery needed. No disc issues. But he needs to get his back right to play quality baseball.

He says there are no disc issues and no surgery will be needed. He just wants to "get his back right" in order to perform up to his abilities.
Bryant, who signed a 7-year, $182M free agent contract with the Rockies this past offseason, has played in only 17 games this season. He's batting .270 with 0 home runs and 4 RBIs.
