Reds Throw No-Hitter... And Still Lose Game

How low can this season go for the Cincinnati Reds? How about throwing a no-hitter—and still coming out with an 'L'?

"How in this world?" exclaimed the Pittsburgh Pirates broadcast crew.

It's only the 6th time in the long history of major league baseball that a team has pitched a no-hitter and still lost. The Reds are now 9-26, and the losing is getting comical at this point.

Rookie starter Hunter Greene threw 7.1 of those no-hit innings against the Pirates, a whopping 118 pitches worth, and left a 0-0 game after walking two in the 8th inning. Reliever Art Warren completed the no-hitter, but not before walking the bases loaded, and then watching Pittsburgh's Ke'Bryan Hayes ground into a run-scoring forceout for the only run.
