Reds Pitcher Designated For Assignment

The Cincinnati Reds have designated Phillip Diehl for assignment.

Diehl was called up to the Reds' major league roster earlier this season. It was a special moment for him, as he is a Cincinnati native. However, his time with his hometown team is coming to a close.

In five games with the Reds this season, Diehl had a 0-0 record and 11.12 ERA. He certainly had his struggles, but there is some reason to believe that another team could take a chance on him. It will be interesting to see if another club claims him off waivers or acquires him via trade from here.
