Red Sox Outfielder Designated For Assignment
The Boston Red Sox have designated Jaylin Davis for assignment.
The Red Sox claimed Davis off waivers from the San Francisco Giants last month. Since arriving in Beantown, he only appeared in two games. During them, he had two hits in four at-bats, so it's fair to say that he had some success when called upon. However, he now has been designated for assignment for the second time this season and could be heading to a new club because of it.
Davis had made appearances at the major league level in each of the last four seasons. He has yet to cement himself as a full-time MLB player, but perhaps that will change in the future. In 28 career games, he has two home runs, four RBIs, and a .179 batting average.
