Red Sox Infielder Hits Free Agency Market
Travis Shaw is moving on from the Boston Red Sox, as the veteran infielder has elected to become a free agent.
Shaw was recently designated for assignment. Instead of playing for their Triple-A squad, he will be hoping to land another MLB job elsewhere. Teams looking for a bit more depth in their infield could view him as a solid option, as he can play third base, first base, and second base.
Shaw also comes with a good chunk of major league experience, too. In 733 career games between the Milwaukee Brewers, Toronto Blue Jays, and Boston Red Sox, he has 114 home runs, 366 RBIs, and a .237 batting average.
If he does find a new home, he will be looking to bounce back from what's been an awful start in 2022. In 19 at-bats with Boston, he failed to get on base.
