Rays Designate Pitcher For Assignment
The Tampa Bay Rays are making some changes, as they have designated Robert Dugger for assignment.
Dugger is in his first season with the Rays. Yet, his time with the major league squad is now over after just one appearance. In 5.1 innings pitched on the year, he allowed three earned runs on eight hits. He also recorded seven strikeouts.
It will be intriguing to see what happens from here for Dugger. There could be a team interested in the idea of claiming him through waivers, but time will tell on that front. Due to the fact that he has been through this before, he also has the right to elect free agency instead of playing in the minors for Tampa.
In 24 games between the Marlins, Mariners, and Rays, Dugger has a 0-6 record and 7.22 ERA.
